Welcome to the Olympics. For years in the USA, we've always known the Olympics is something you need to start saving for, the minute you hear it's going to be hosted in an American city. That's why they announce so early. Factor in price gouging by the hotels and taxis etc and yeah-- it's an expensive once in a lifetime trip.
