A USB memory stick is a great idea. I've used one for the first time when taking docs from my desktop to my laptop and it worked amazingly easily. They aren't very expensive and places like Amazon and PCWorld online have them. The one I used had limited capactiy so I just transferred what I could, wiped it clean and started again, sort of in batches. I'm not good with computers so honestly, anyone can do it!
