I was afraid of the Queen in Snow White. The picture in a story book I had was particularly haunting. Needless to say, me being me, I couldn't help but take a peek before bed, lol. I love to scare myself. It hasn't changed.
Malificent, the eviyal queen in Sleeping Beauty. Also rattlesnakes, probably from something on Mickey Mouse -- my dad finally explained that rattlesnakes didn't live in towns, even small towns. I didn't see a Dalek till I was in my 20's, and they looked pretty rickety. The levitating Daleks are much scarier--before, all you needed to do was run upstairs.
It's odd, the Daleks never scared me at all. OTOH, I'd been exposed to much weirder aliens in books for several years before I ever saw a Dalek, so they were nothing particularly 'new'. I didn't care for the Zarbi, though - I never have liked ants much - but they weren't exactly 'scarey' either.
Heights and having to meet strange people were my main scarey things. And - until my infants school teacher taught me better - big dogs.
