Going to BED.
Apr. 22nd, 2007 09:21 pmOnly nine but am ready to go to bed, I've done precisely nothing this weekend except read and sit in front of the laptop waiting for sometihng interesting to happen and I feel disgusted with myself.
I have three short stories that I MUST write, because I've promised them to people, and a whole scad of short stories that I should write because they are for anthologies. and I've done nothing. Time for drastic action I think. Pay someone else to write them. (joking joking ...)
Anyway, some good news, I've been accepted by ERWA as their newest reviewer. I'll be starting with Torquere's titles, so... cracks fingers.... I'm rather looking forward to it! Folds arms and looks at Torquere writers.... *G*
*evil grin*
Am watching Kingdom with Stephen Fry. Singularly unimpressed with it so far. He's wonderful of course, so worth watching just for him. Bugger all else on.
I've nearly finished The Charioteer, it's just so bloody marvellous. I have to laugh a bit though, because, the way that everyone is "after" Laurie all the time, reminds me just a little of James Lear's The Back Passage, only without all the rampant sex, of course. But there was just the first kiss, after about 200 pages, and god it was so desperately sweet and tender I just wanted to reach in and hug them both.

Charioteer

"I was as explicit as I intended to be."
My answer, too.
I'm sure you'll get all your writing done, Erastes. I'd say you're more likely to do it than I am. Procrastination is my middle name. If I ever finish Counterpoint, I'm going to have a National Holiday declared.
What's ERWA? And what will you be doing for them? Should Torquere writers run for cover or hire lawyers? - lol
Re: Charioteer
Date: 2007-04-22 08:42 pm (UTC)In my book that would have led to something else. But then ... *sighs happily* Evidently there's a version with more boy kissing, but I don't know if the one I'm reading is that one or not, seeing as there's only one kiss so far.
I'm going to buckle down. I shouldn't have promised those three stories, and they are all due fairly soon. Panic panic.
ERWA is The Erotic Readers and Writers Association (www.erotica-readers.com) and is a good resource, especially for submission calls. I'm going to be reviewing books from Torquere Press.

God, yes. When I reached that part, I kept thinking, "Laurie, you dweeb, if you don't want Ralph, I'll turn myself into a gay man and snag him for my own. Sheesh."
