Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] treva2007! I don't think i've ever actually heard from you, but hope you have a good day anyway!

I just received "Maurice & Alec in America" which I'd really been looking forward to reading, and was puzzled why it was self published. I think I know now, Despite the writing (from a quick flick through) being really good, it's A.U. (Alternative Universe) and the author blatently admits this. hmmmm.... )

Good grief. Beowulf? Why the smeg isn't that going straight to DVD? Ray Winstone???? Who's deluded sense of imagination thought that he would be at all good in that part? "Oi've cum ter kill yer Monsta" *ashamed*

Character meme - gacked from [livejournal.com profile] evremonde

1. Choose a few of your own characters (five at the most).
2. Make them answer the following questions.
3. Then tag three people.
4. Feel free to go ahead and add some questions yourself.

Ambrose (from Standish)
Michael (from Transgressions)
Valerie (from Junction X)

So, I've finished chapter 15 and I'm happy with that little glow of accomplishment. Then today I set out on the unsure path of chapter 16. It's New Year 1963 so I just nip off to Wikipedia to see if I can see any events were interesting enough for MC to mention. And... I find that "the big freeze of 1963" was pretty famous. Hmm.

That's flipping annoying. Now I have to rewrite the Christmas and New Year of 1962... Just as well I looked. Someone would have noticed.

In other news - it's sooooo reassuring when you get an email from a service provider to whom you have sent the same plans to three times because they say they havent received them which says:

"We have defiantly not recieved your plans."

Ah ha! Defy me will you, my pretty? *twirls moustache*

Not many trains yet, you'll be pleased to hear.

My poor Tagonist (I can't really call him a PROtagonist) is so far up De Nile he's likely to find Stanley and Livingstone any time soon.

What I really NEED to be doing is rewriting Transgressions. As I'm constantly telling my fellow writerly type mates, a book won't sell while it's sitting in a drawer... What I need is another me. Or two extra arms, and three more days in weekend.

Have a snip, because I never give you snips.

I know nothing about the stockmarket.

I know nothing about model trains

I know nothing about train spotting (called Rail Fanning in the US which is infinitely sexier imho) (if just as geekie)

So what the fuck am I doing, writing about a stockbroker who falls in love with a train enthusiast?

HMMMM?????

No wonder people write Sci-fi/fantasy. When you create your own world, no-one is going to question your world are they? Oooh no. Kilbnixes aren't blue....
