PD Publishing made the short list
Oct. 8th, 2007 09:44 pmAm thrilled to bits at the Gaylaxicon Awards results for novels. (thanks to
stacia_seaman for the results)
The winner was Vellum, The Book of All Hours by Hal Duncan, published by Del Rey.
Short List novels were:
Carnival by Elizabeth Bear - Bantam.
Smoke and Ashes by Tanya Huff - DAW Books
Spin Control by Chris Moriarty - Bantam Spectra Books
Dragon’s Teeth by James Hetley - Ace Books
Privilege of the Sword by Ellen Kushner - Bantam Spectra Books
Snow by Wheeler Scott - Torquere Press (PDF)
The Virtu by Sarah Monette - Ace Books
The Growing by Susanne Beck & Okasha Skat’si - PD Publishing
PD Publishing are gradually nudging their way up into the public notice and good for them. Bad for them is that they will probably now be swamped by manuscripts and they will explode from overwork, but I am very happy for them.
And I had the nicest email from a reader the other day (actually all my readers' emails are lovely, I've met some wonderful people) but this one was special in as much is - She's a Fancy Rat Breeder and she loved Standish so much she's named a rat Rafe. I can't tell you how squeeful that makes me. :) I want a Rafe and an Ambrose and a Fleury and they can all live together.... (except Lucius would EAT them)
