First of all – those you who were interested in submitting to THE LAST GASP gay historical 4 novella anthology – there’s GOOD NEWS – the deadline has been extended to “open” as I don’t have enough submissions.
This was caused by me making the original call for submissions a private one, and it didn’t drum up enough interest, so now I’m making it an open call.
HERE ARE THE SUBMISSION DETAILS – and I hope that some of you will consider writing for it. It will now be published in 2010.
I’ve just realised I didn’t advertise my Jessewave post this week – it’s about the joy of Sex Reading. So pop on over and have a look?
TV: Been watching "Defying Gravity" which is... ok. A bit slow, rather more than derivative, but I'll stick with it until it gets cancelled!! Ugly Betty is back – hurrah! The Big Bang Theory continues to please my inner nerd quite wonderfully (and if you are not watching it – why NOT?)

Something I will never understand is this whole “you’re either with us, or you are against us” mentality. Many people I have on my flist have views I disagree with, and occasionally I might pop in and say why I disagree with them, but just because they think differently to me about a subject it doesn’t mean I HATE them, or will drop them.
Granted, if I found I had an out and out frothing mad hate-crime Phelps on my list, I would drop them, but just because someone thinks about race, or religion, or civil rights in a way I don’t run parallel to, it doesn’t make them my enemy. I wouldn’t go spouting about them in other forums, I wouldn’t stomp off from communities where they were. I just don’t get it.
Perhaps it’s being English, some laissez-faire (yes, I know that’s ironic) attitude we have where we’ll all argue down the pub, disagree vehemently with each other and then all go out for a curry afterwards. We don’t stomp off from the pub and vow never to eat Tandoori with those blokes again. I belong to many discussion groups where there are members whose views I might disagree with—there was a discussion about male protags on one group the other day for example where I wanted to call bollocks on many opinions that were being ignorantly aired, but I wouldn’t leave the group because of it. It’s all a bit odd.
