On one of these recycling groups a few days back – someone was advertising a tv that they didn’t need “no remote control” we’ve bought a smaller one – for £5 – I fired off an hopeful email and didn’t expect any response.  Yesterday I got an email “yes, it’s still available” so I drove over to Horstead today to pick it up.

OH MY GOD.

It’s GINORMOUS. Of course it’s a tube model, not a flat screen and HUGE!!  28 INCHES!

I nearly killed myself getting it into the car (with the help of a strapping young man who looked at me most askance – I think he thought I was going to have a heart attack (I felt like I was going to) – and now it’s still in the car because I’m trying to work out how the bloody hell I’m going to get it OUT.  I think perhaps I’ll put a bin liner in the wheelie bin and then put the tv in there, and then I can wheel it to the door – once in the house I can just push it along….

really. ginormous.

I hope it bloody works. Idiot face here forgot to ask him to show it working of course… But if it does it will be fabulous – at the moment I’m watching a bedroom sized tv, that mother bought me about four years ago, and for gaming its far far too small as I have to literally sit on top of it to work out what’s going on.  With this CINEMA sized monstrosity, I could probably sit across the road and still make out the details.  More on this later. I may have just bought a huge paperweight.
