I don't deny that Livejournal has, at times, sucked up time. But I can't say that it was time that I would have been doing anything else. And I've certainly NEVER missed a deadline. May I say Ms Hobb, that a Blog is a BLOG whether it's on Livejournal or on your own domain. Slagging off bloggers in your own Blog? Hilarious! It reminds me of Sideshow Bob who said something like "I realise how ironic it is to appear on TV to decry TV"

Re LJ - I'm not moving - I have blogs-squats everywhere else, but I can't be arsed, frankly, to move and set up elsewhere now would just be too difficult. A lot of authors/agents etc are here on LJ and that's convenient for me. I can always flit to erastes.com eventually and hope people will add me as a feed.

Severus is driving me bonkers. He's sitting on the window-sill next to me and making that silly "I see you birdy-fud!" noise at the two collared-doves that are stuffing their faces on the bird table. He's got a limp, so it's off to the vets tomorrow, as I think it's a splinter and he won't let me touch it. BOY CATS!! who'd have 'em? More expense...

Awww....poor Severus. It is funny, I have found boy cats to be more open and just more lovey than female ones. Both my boys crawl into my lap all the time when I am sitting, wanting to be petted and fussed over, the female ones I have had? Not so much.

Also they put up with the horde and that is saying a lot. The kids pick them up, carry them around and LOVE them, the cats never even growl at them.

I am going cross post to my IJ but won't be leaving LJ anytime soon either. :)

Writing two and a half novels, scads of fanfiction, and lately some short fiction while under the watches of Livejournal. If LJ is so addictive to her, by all means she shouldn't come here, but dude, don't project on the rest of us.

Hee! I love it when cats do the food-chirp! I miss Noel doing it on the windows near the dinner table. Since she doesn't come into that part of the house anymore, my life is sadly lacking in chirps.

I have two cats, both boys, and they are definitely arsey pains in my arse.

Fortunately, they are cute and I love them. It's their saving grace.

Boycats, girlcats... I've noticed differences between individuals but not by gender. My first lifelong cat was a girl and the most amiable sweetie in the world, came when called, fetched... She was an empathicat--if someone was upset or unhappy she'd jump in their lap and purr til she got a smile. I lost her in her 20th summer to kidney failure. The cutie in the icon loves attention but doesn't like to be picked up--she had a horrible infection as a kitten and her tum hurt. All our cats are equally friendly with us and cautious until they get to know new people, though both tigers (boy and girl) were strays and are afraid of being lifted. They come up for cuddles, though. I know a lot of folks say neutered male cats are sweeter, but I haven't seen that.

If LJ decides to eliminate the free accounts, I'll probably keep a minimal ad-cluttered account and go over to IJ even though I dislike the name. It's probably good for publicity but the 'what the hell are they doing now' is getting awfully tiresome.

I think it's because I've had real girlie girlie cats before now, even Pixel (bless him) was an *cough* antique dealer with a bow tie if you get my drift and was very ... particular.

These two are Just William and Jennings. Pockets full of slugs and string and with permenantly grazed knees.

UGH. I'd flip the hell out if I ever found a mouse. They are indoor boys; they go out on my back porch which is screened in but that is all.

What I find from time to time are lizard tails. I guess the tails are just not yummy? I hardly ever find the bodies... Here in Florida, lizards are commonplace and they occasionally get inside my apartment. When they do, the poor things don't have long for this world.

Sadly, no. I've seen Angel in action. Lizard body goes into the mouth. Lizard drops the tail which falls onto the ground...lizard body is carried off. I try to stop him whenever I see it, but I've never saved a single one. :(

Yes. I think what's behind all this is that no country wants to set a precedent, because there are so many countries where gay and lesbian citizens could legitimately seek asylum in a saner nation. I mean--just about any Iranian glbt person could ask for that. And then there are the women in countries that practice genital mutiliation, countries that give men legal ownership of female relatives -- I don't think anyone wants to open the floodgate. But Iran's legal murder of these gay kids is just obscene.

This is so offensive in so many ways I can't even begin to reply. Sounds to me more like Ms. Hobb has a problem with her own self discipline. But that doesn't mean blogs are not writing.
