Feeling better today, thank Glod.

On a related matter to my saying yesterday about how great it is when authors reply to fan mail, I'd like to say how arsey it is when Blogs DON'T.  I've written twice now to Risky Regencies asking them if they'd be interested in reviewing Speak Its Name or allowing me to do a guest blog for it - and they haven't even bothered to reply yea or nay. Buggerem.  Regency society is more polite than that, you know, Riskies!!

I'm just watching WINGS - which a kind soul sent me a while back, and yes, it is the slashiest film ever.

I just splurted my coke over my desk at this line, in this scene: (Picture under the cut) "Oh Dave, Dave! I was trying to get just one more Heinie, for you!"  I'm sure wouldn't have wanted any other heinie but yours, Jack.

okay, I must see this film. Where can I get it?

As for riskie regencies, that's just plain rude!

Isn't Wings just the best? I think I mentioned how slashy it was when I watched on TCM back in Feb during the 100 Days of Oscars. I mean these guys are flipping in love with each other!!

I love Clara Bow to pieces but her Mary? Puleeze. lol. It is all about Jack and Dave. :D

Wings? How do I get them...apart from the Kotek kind, *snerk*

Brokeback is on on Sunday evening! *squee* I've written about 300 words today. I've made a deal with myself...if I get to 500 I can read the first chapter of Standish! \o/ (I only finished Sheep this morning).

That gets my knickers in a knot too. I have networked with a LOT of people. I remember vividly the one person who did not reply to me. (And I don't think and author wants to be remembered that way) These were not fan letters, but professional letters one author to the next with specific questions. Grrrr.

Plus if you put on your website that you will reply to all emails--THEN DO IT. Don't leave a reader/fan/writer wondering if you were just saying that to get your feather's stroked.

Ugh. Vent over. Hit me, beat me, make me moan if I ever do any of those things.

There's actually a snog seconds after this shot, and their hands are NEVER STILL - the fingers are constantly running through his hair, and stroking each other.

I don't know about getting one in Oz - there's a supply on Amazon, and oo- there's one on OZ ebay!

I could probably copy you one if you wanted it?

I know - I can't watch it though, it broke me into little bitty pieces. I bought the DVD when it first came out and it's still in the plastic wrapping!!!!

Let me know if you like it!!

Nod - it's very rude. I mean they are a blog, blogging about Risky Regencies, you think they would be all over it. But perhaps they don't want to advertise the competition. Perhaps they didn't get the email, I'll have to give them benefit of the doubt, I guess.

I will certainly thwap you if you go Diva on the world.

Omg...there'll be no hope for me then. I cried at Iceage! At suckerlove_ we've nicknamed it 'Boback Mounting, hehe. Well, Stefan has a cowboy hat, lol.

It's really great to *get* mail from readers, too, so I always encourage folks to let their favorite writers know their work made you happy. *GG!!!*

You might be onto the competition thing. I have had friend requests denied at Myspace and the only think I can think if is it is a competition issue.

Tis offical then. Erastes is my Diva patrol. This could get kinky.

Thanks for the headsup.

Looking over the blog, I don't see anything risky. But there are lots of links to RWA and Romantic Times, so my guess is that these ladies consider Hard & Fast The Regency that Had Better Shut the Hell Up. You're getting the Cut Direct, m'dear. Why waste a download?

The reference links look interesting, though.

I bought the Brokeback DVD sort of as a general 'support our team' gesture, but I can't watch it, either. Teh Tragic Gay is necessary in mainstream, I guess, to get the point across to the ignorant--but I just don't have any desire to feed that to my subconscious.

I shall make rude gestures with my fan...

Exactly, and that's why I started writing to authors. When I started to get "fanmail" (still makes me blush to even call it that) I couldn't believe it, it was something that I'd often joked about "Oh wouldn't it be great to get fanmail..." years ago when I started writing, no imagining for a minute that people would actually take the time. And the feeling was so great, I decided to pass it on! I've made some nice LJ through it, and also had some great conversations with authors.

I just cried for days. It was awful. Just thinking about it makes me cry.

Wings...how lovely!

It's refreshing to know someone who actually has an appreciation for the silent cinema! Most everyone I know runs away screaming at the suggestion of watching a silent movie. Too bad Wings has never been released on DVD. The first ever Academy Award winner for best picture deserves better treatment! To quote Norma Desmond, "We didn't need dialogue. We had faces!"

I adore silent movies. One of the best experiences of my life was going to the Dominion at Tottenham Court Road (which still has the BIG silver screen) and watching "Flesh & The Devil" and "Show People" which had been restored, slowed down and had a full orchestra playing.

It most certainly is out on DVD! I think I'm going to start making a collection.

Sorry my dear, but I believe that's a bootleg. I don't participate in the buying of illegally distributed movies. Paramount owns the rights to Wings and I do not believe they have licensed it to be released by this company. I could be wrong. I'll try and research it some more.
