I emailed my editor at Perseus yesterday to ask if it was OK if I were to start sending out Junction X to publishers/agents etc. I'm sure they'll be fine with it but I don't want to breach my contract accidentally. Perseus has the rights over "gay historical romance" I write, but JX isn't technically "historical" (being based in the 1960's) and it's not technically "Romance" either as ... well, for the reasons that make a romance a romance, without being completely spoilery. You never know, they may ask to see it anyway, which would be great, but if not, it's still best to keep your publisher in the loop.
Now of course, if they say "ok" - where the blinkerty blink do I send it to? I feel all unsure again, just like I was when I first started out.
