Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] jateshi and [livejournal.com profile] joyful_molly! Have a good one, darlings.

Wow. I'd love to do Cos Play - but here's the main reason I don't. I simply couldn't produce anything like these.  Look at the wings!!

Lust Bites announces its closing date. *cries*  I'll miss the community a lot, but it has got less and less interest in the last year.

Charlie Cochrane has posted to The Macaronis about herself and her books. I did a post there earlier in the week about men's underpants.

And finally - I did a book trailer for Frost Fair - It's less than a minute long (which I consider all book trailers should be!!!) so enjoy! It's rather silly (I know) to have a Regency trailer in the style of an old film, but indulge my peccadilloes (again) won't you?

Wow, I'm surprised about Lust Bites. Was that expected? I thought they were doing pretty well. :S

I'd cosplay, too, but cosplayers tend to frighten the pants off me.

Love the Mozart. But don't those boys look chilly ; )

We'd been talking about it for a while - as often happens it was being supported by about a tenth of the members - always the same people - and the "viewers and commenters" dropped off more and more so that we could hardly give our prizes away.

Thank you! And yes - they'd be DEAD, not horny!

That was terrific. I think the "old film" styling was brilliant. While I can actually differentiate between the Regency period and the early 20th century, old is old and it was cool. (It's a steampunk trailer using actual Regency footage. ;-D) I wouldn't have minded a couple more seconds to read the text about the bad guy, though. I had to back up twice. But it's probably just me.

What software did you use to make it?

Bravo!

Beautiful pic of Gideon. It's a shame that wasn't on the cover. Yum!

Shame about Lustbites. I did look in from time to time, but I'm afraid I never felt compelled to comment.

I though about you this week while listening to a radio 4 documentary about the Prince of Wales - the title, not Prince Charles (although I believe next week's episode will focus on him). It was fascinating - here's the link if you missed it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00f90sl/Being_Prince_of_Wales_Episode_1/

I like how the pictures bob and have grain and dirt. Cool software making it look like early silent film. I've hired a friend of mine to edit a book trailer for "The Filly." Watch for it in the next couple of weeks!

Oh, that trailer is fun! The pic of Gideon is absolutely gorgeous, and great use of Mozart!

Simply Windows Movie Maker which has had a few upgrades since I used it to make the Standish trailer.

I should have screentested it a bit before uploading, as yes,it's a bit rushed in parts - but too late now!

:) Thank you, Stormy!

I'll certainly look out for the video,Mark- it's always interesting to see what other people come up with. I have Views on trailers - I've seen so many that are about 3 minutes long and it just bored me rigid. Short and sharp - like a blurb is my motto!

Glad you liked it!

Thank you! He's gorgeous isn't he? Not quite how I see him in my mind's eye, but pretty close!

I like the trailer! The old film look is very charming. (And Gideon is a hottie ;) )

I'm right with you on trailers. The majaroity of them make me gag. Most of them are just shoddily put together with clip-art and text. None of that for me. I think you will be surprised.

And now I've spent the entire afternoon making one for Gym Dandy. It is all your fault. ;-)

Thanks!

Ah...but you can chalk it up to "promotional procrastination"

I look forward to seeing yours!

My slides are speeding by at 1 second each. Do you know how to fix that?

That's too bad. Hopefully you guys will be able to find other ways of promoting your stuff.

Oh, yeah. Cool vid. :D I've yet to put something together for my books (or, most likely, ONE of my books). I've got the images and the song, but I'm way too intimidated to put it all together. Argh.

Gimme a week or so. Maybe I'll have something to share by then.

Yes - either drag them to be bigger in the timeframe view

or

go to "options" "advanced" and adjust the default setting there.

The trailer you made is gorgeous - very nicely done, and I don't think a book trailer is a silly idea at all. In fact, I think trailers should be mandatory for books. :)

Thank you! I want to do one for Transgressions, but think I'd better wait and see what the publisher has planned...

:)

I could do one for the Speak Its Name anthology though....

Book trailer?! Neat! I like the "aged" effect.
