Frost Fair Review
Jan. 23rd, 2009 04:43 pmA lovely review of Frost Fair by Book Utopia Mom, someone whose reviews I like and respect.
...this is an engrossing character study, with solid writing and detail that should please any fan of the genre.
She didn't think too highly of the characters, Gideon was a little distant and Joshua slightly dim, but that's exactly how I saw them too, so that makes me happy!
Leverage. What the heck is that supposed to be? Some half arsed mish-mash of every heist film I've ever seen mated with Hustle off the BBC and the A-Team. Simply awful. I was prepared to suspend my belief and sit there chomping on the chewing gum for the brain until the long haired one kung-fu-ed eight men with guns in the time that it took a sports bag to drop about five feet. (which would be about a second). Look - suspend my belief if you must, but don't break the laws of physics. I've SEEN the masters of Kung fu. Timothy Hutton? I'm sorry for you. No love.
