Being Human
Mar. 1st, 2009 11:35 pmBeing Human series one finished this evening and WOAH! What a great finale episode, great last two final episodes actually. I've really really enjoyed this show. I mean - a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost all living in a flat--in BRISTOL of all places--they could have played it as a sit-com and had it done for laughs but they didn't. I hope to god that they continue the series, I'm pretty sure they will, but they'll need to think of a new plotline, because if they stick to what they are doing, it's going to get tired very soon. I liked the introduction of the vicar this week, and sort of hope that he becomes a character in the next series, it would be an interesting facet. Ooo - just realised the cliffhanger with Nina, that means that they will carry it on, right? I just love George and Mitchell to pieces--where's the fanfic? Although "Casper" can sod right off as far as I'm concerned, even if she did go seriously Carrie when it was needed. I just loved the moment with the mad woman vampire who's saying stuff like "I've been given the blood of 1000 generations, the blood of the ancestors!" and Caspar goes "Yeah, well, congrats on winning the award for talking like a prat." If you have missed it, then catch up with it, I'm pretty sure it's online in lots of places. Seriously. It's good.
Best livejournal story of the week goes to
alex_beecroft with this:
So, I was coming out of church this morning and the vicar stopped me with the words "I've just been looking at your website. Gay romance fiction, eh?"
I gave a sort of shrug and smile as if to say "oh, thanks for being interested!" while thinking 'OK Reverend (and by extension the entire church of St. Andrews), now's your chance to show your quality.'
"That's right," I said.
"I must try one," said he. "I'm a big fan of the Age of Sail."
Just. Dies. "I'm a big fan of the Age of Sail." PRICELESS. I admonished her for not having a copy of False Colors with her to whip out of her bag to press upon him.
I sent out two submissions today, one to Future Destination and one to Starbooks. Both stories had sold to Haworth for two anthologies but of course--mine timing being classic it went down, so time to put those puppies to work--hopefully!
Just worked out that I've read 41 books so far this year. Eep.
