I've never seen this version of Wuthering Heights before. Ralph Fiennes FTW. *dies, oh just dies *

However what deadbeat came up with Juliette Binoche as Cathy? Some mad person. She's about as passionate as roadkill. And that accent? Gah!  It's not my favourite book at all - it should have ended

when Cathy died. The rest of it is entirely superfluous imho. To me to seems to be how to create the heart of the book in the middle and then go on. Oh, I see that people will say it's a journey blah blah and showing how Heathcliff suffers and destroys all in his path, but it's unsatisfying. I didn't care enough for Cathy and Hareton and making theirs the happy ending didn't impress me. The happy ending for me was Heathcliff's death and the talk of their ghosts being reunited. eta: oh way to go to ruin the book with a half-hearted death bed scene - that should be full of fury and hate and love, not the namby pamby stupidity. Dear Lord.

I've also discovered Entourage, recommended by a RL friend - and after four episodes and thoroughly enjoying it.

Lucius went out at 10pm last night and has not returned. Ho hum. I dare say he'll have some excuse when he returns. Aliens, or pirates this time, I'll wager.

Or, hopefully, alien pirates.

I am in complete agreement about the film (book's one of my absolute favs). I LOVE that version of Wuthering Heights and Ralphe Fiennes - omgwtfawesome. Also agree on Juliette Binoche. That was a ridiculous decision on the casting director's part!

I really like Entourage, although I haven't kept up with it. It's one of the those shows I didn't watch from the beginning so I caught a lot of episodes out of order. Is Lloyd in it yet? I love Lloyd and Ari.

No sign of him. It'd better be alien pirates. "Someone else had nicer food" ain't going to impress me.

She was absolutely useless. Wooden. The deathbed scene left me going, BWUH??? They should have been screaming at each other.

No Lloyd yet! I love Ari, I loved that actor in Ellen and always thought he was hugely underrated.

Jeremy Piven! I thought he was one of the best things about Ellen. IIRC, he was the only support cast member who survived when the show was revamped from Ellen & Friends to Ellen (though it wouldn't be the first time I do not recall correctly).

I hope you love Lloyd when you meed him.

Entourage

I have unwittingly read a Merlin modern AU/Entourage/RPF fanfic, so I'm sorta half-in-love with Ari already. I'll have to put it in my Netflix queue! =D

I've seen the Ralph Fiennes WH but neither he nor Larry Olivier can compete with Timothy Dalton's Heathcliff, which I saw as a very young and impressionable adolescent when it came out, around 1970. I am rather more enamoured of Heathcliff as a character than the novel, however.

Oh Ralph. You are so angsty and beautiful. And you completely outshine your costars.

And you play Voldemort.

*sighs*

You and I could have doubled the role of Cathy to Ralphie boy. You've seen Timothy Dalton as heathcliffe, natch. *sighs*

No, I think I've missed that version, too - It's a book I generally avoid because of my dissatisfaction with the "ending happening in the middle thing. I'll have to look out for it!!

I will certainly have to seek the Dalton version out. I had a real crush on him after seeing him in Cromwell.

I know! And he was so passionate on his side, too. Lord, can you imagine how powerful that scene would have been with a competent actress?
