Two national articles for the Running Press Line:

Zipper Rippers – The Baltimore City Paper

What Women Want – Jezebel

Jezebel has loads of comments too, which is (largely) very encouraging!

I liked Breeches Ripper better. I'm surprised they didn't mention Suzanne Brockman's All Through The Night. I haven't read it, so maybe it actually doesn't qualify for some reason, or maybe they were focusing on historical work.

Technically they can't have zipper-rippers until about 1900 because they weren't invented yet!

I don't know why Running Press decided to go with historical--maybe they felt there'd be less competition from the contemps.

I think that article was noting a major publisher, Running Press (not one of the biggies, but certainly well-established) going into gay romance. Until last year, all the self-proclaimed pundits of romance claimed that would never happen--that there was no market for it.

Beery! Funnily, that's Chris Smith's nickname for her. I think she's stuck with it.

Very slightly off-topic, but wandering around Bistleone Press, found this call for historical military-setting gays.
Don't know if you'd already seen it.

Yes - I posted that on Speak Its Name when it came out - I'm surprised the call is still up, as the four stories have been chosen now and it will be out in January - it looks like a good collection, I am looking forward to reading it!
