meta_writer is having a themed session of posts about “Back to Basics”

“Have you ever had a conversation with someone and been really surprised that they don't know something about writing that to you seems pretty self evident? What a query letter entails, perhaps, how plot develops, who your protagonist and antagonist characters are?

“We all have such a diverse wealth of experience that can be shared on the writing process, we all have experienced different stumbling blocks and things that come naturally to us. Some of us are analytical, and some of us more free flowing. But all of us, I'd suggest, have both faced a completely blank wall, and then been completely surprised when someone comes along with an off the cuff answer that makes it all so very clear.

“This is an opportunity for you to share your fundamental writing tools and experiences. Be they "how editors marks work" or "how to write a blurb" or "character development in a short story", it would be great to hear from you on any topic that is really dear to your heart!

Lamasu has done the best review of Transgressions EVER. I love Lamasu’s reviews, they are unashamedly silly and hilarious.  DO NOT READ IF YOU DON’T LIKE SPOILERS because she goes through the plot pretty much entirely, but if you’ve already read the book and/or don’t like spoilers, go and giggle.

David is a Blond uke. He frolics in the fields being as naked as the season allows and he grows his hair long so the winds can blow it about his bronzed bod for extra BISH!

I laughed so hard that I had to fend off my daughter (who is much too young to read about buttsecks- or any secks at all, really). Very funny, even if I'm not totally Yaoi-literate.
