There's a terrific book, if you haven't read it already, called What the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality.

The priest who wrote it looked at the two main passages condemning homosexuality from the perspectives of translation and cultural context. In Greek and Hebrew, the author writes, there are two words for "bad thing," one being "things that made the Hebrews go ewwww" and the other being "really seriously bad things" (like murder). Unfortunately, that subtlety was lost in translation, and so the little bads and the big bads came to be seen as equally bad.

I'm not doing the author justice by simplifying his analysis, but if you don't have anything better to do, it's a fascinating book, and very well done.
