Just as a note to those who don’t believe that people take the time they do, I just had a rejection for an agent that I’d entirely forgotten about – that I’d submitted to at the beginning of June!  Very much a stock reply, too.  Onwards and upwards!

Back to idiocy – why is it that when you ring a company they don’t believe what you say?  Last week I called the bank (in India) to tell them that my new card hadn’t arrived.

“Oh – it was posted out to you on 4th August.”

“Really

“Are you saying you haven’t received it?”

“-----.”

Then today I rang British Gas. I’ve got the measure of them now, I have learned if you keep hitting hash you don’t have to choose any stupid options and get lost in the ether and you are speaking to a human within seconds. Yes, I am sneaky.

“Hello – I’m ringing to tell you that my debit card has changed and I need to amend the details in my payment machine.”

“We sent out a letter explaining you’ll be getting a machine in November.”

“Well I haven’t received that.”

“It was sent in September.”

“That’s nice.”

“Have you not received it?”

*DONALD DUCK IMPRESSION.*

 

Lucius is crunching on a mouse. And he’s just had his dinner too. Obviously mouse is on the dessert. Yuk. At least he eats it all, tail and all.  I feel rather offended that he doesn't bring me mouse presents.
