Where have I been for 3 years?  How on earth did I manage to miss this show?  I’d seen it mentioned occasionally on GLBT tv schedules but ignored it because I thought it was either a sitcom or a modern drama but OMG it’s so not!  Early 1960’s America with a gay character lurking there in episode one. The suits! The cars! The suits! The hair! The ties! Did I mention the suits?

The appalling attitudes to things like child safety, smoking, women… oh I’m so enjoying it!

Bad Flist! Bad!  No biscuit! I can’t believe I’ve missed this. However I have three seasons to catch up on--so woo!

No snow yet… Anyone who has read my short story The Snow Queen will know that I’ll be dashing to the window tomorrow morning. That character is definitely the closest to me out of all of them.

We have inches of the white stuff here in Hertfordshire. I don't think the kids will ever get to sleep tonight!
Husband has been out and says the roads around the village are in chaos, people abandoning their cars at the roadside.

I wonder if England will ever learn what to do with a bit of weather? ;D

Oh, Mad Men is utter brilliance personified. We have the first two series and expect to acquire the third when it's released. It's one of the best-written shows out there. I have every now and then squeed about it, but tried to be non-spoilery.

*g* You may have it as an early Christmas present. The icon that is, not the snow. *is jealously keeping all that* ;D

I apologise then - I must have missed it. But GAH!!! historical fiction, with added gay! and tries to be accurate? it's fabulous so far! Don already has been shown to be a liar (as well as a bastard....)

I'm loving it!

Oh, no worries! It was usually just in passing anyway, but I do adore the show from the bottom of my heart. Also, JOAN! I ♥ her so much.

I'm surprised you'd not heard more compelling reviews of Mad Men, because it's certainly a massive critical hit. It's one of those shows that I find extremely good and impossible to watch--just way, WAY too disturbing to someone whose early working life was not all that far removed in time from the horrific bullshit the show depicts.

So I'm an appreciator but not a fan, if you see what I mean. The sets, props and costumes ARE amazing, though.

I posted about it a couple of months ago. Bad Erastes! It's great. I'm trying to figure out how to get the last season as I type...
