I’ve been given the onerous task of reviewing Alex Beecroft’s new book “The Wages of Sin” ** and JUST ONCE I wish she’d write a stinker. Because people think we’ve got our heads up each others fundaments and it’s NOT TRUE. She’s just bloody good! No-one could read it and think it was anything but brilliant.

I think I’ll give it a really bad fake review and see if anyone notices. *evil grin* At least they won't say it's favouritism.... Seriously though - it's so good I could spit. I think it might be too paranormally for review at Speak Its Name but I'm actually reviewing it for Jessewave, so that's ok. If you love really really gothic stories then this will suit you, as it drips gothic from every pore. It had my hair standing on end in the first bloody chapter. It's what Udolpho should have been, instead of being a bazillion pages of mountains and disappointment.

It's really REALLY cold. I have goosepimples all over my arms. So I'm off to have a bath (my bathroom is like... Alaska - freezing cold and ruled over by an ugly woman.) to get warm, the wallow in tea - stuff a hot water bottle down my jumper and sit and watch Wallace and Gromit, the Incredibles and then.... BEING HUMAN! I'm so happy that it's back. Here's hoping the new series is more than six episodes.

Went to Dad's today, he's still umming and aahing about getting a new dog - worried about what would happen if he died, and if they don't get on, but I think, once I can get him to a shelter, he'll be more accepting of the idea. I think it's probably better to wait until it's a bit warmer though. He did mention he'd like a cat, but I'm not sure that's a good idea - I think he'd forget that he'd need to keep it in for about a month so it knows where it lives, and he'll let it out straight away and it'll run off!

I don't feel predatory, but I'm just airing some of the icons you never get to see. :)
