Lol @ silly pronunciation. I used to get really annoyed at people when we moved house when I was 6 - suddenly I was amongst people who apparently had "chimbleys" on their roofs (instead of "chimneys") and used "borrow" to mean "lend" and "lend" to mean "borrow".

To this day, I don't know if it was just because of kids being kids, or something particular to that area!

LOL, you've hit on one of my bugbears there. "Burgulry" drives me daft too!

Puts me in mind of an ex-boss of mine who used to tell people that we'd been "unindated with requests".

And why can't newsreaders and their ilk pronounce "sixth" anymore? They all seem to say "sicth"...

I've heard "hospitals" pronounced as "HORSE spittles."

Don't even get me started on the many, many mispronunciations of "nuclear."

You should definitely make a list--"words what need to be pronounced properly."
