Sometimes I love writing. Sometimes I hate it of course. Some days I struggle to get as high as 300 words. Some days I sit and glower at the screen like Beethoven blaming the screen for my deafness. Some day I play Bejewelled all day going "La La La If I don't think about writing then I don't have to do it!"

Not today though! Today I rock. I am the Monster Of Rockness.

2000 words in 2 days. For me - that's HUGE! Once I get to the end of this chapter though, I'm sure I'll be back in Denial and unable to move along.

I would give you a snippet, but cuts don't work at work. But there is young man adoration. Naked. Young. Man. Adoration.

BTW - SANDMAN - Gaiman. Which is the first one? I'm ordering stuff from the library and it doesn't say. Useless.

Preludes & Nocturnes is the first one. It's good, but they get better progressively.

Good job with the writing!

Order for Sandman - excuse the caps shouting - I pulled it off a website.

1. PRELUDES AND NOCTURNES -- #1-8 (story arc called "More than Rubies")
2. THE DOLL'S HOUSE -- #8-16 (since 1999, new editions of this
collection omit #8, "The Sound of Her Wings")
3. DREAM COUNTRY -- #17-20
4. SEASON OF MISTS -- #21-28
5. A GAME OF YOU -- #32-37
6. FABLES AND REFLECTIONS -- #29-31 and 50 ["Distant Mirrors"], #38-40
7. BRIEF LIVES -- #41-49
8. WORLDS' END -- #51-56
9. THE KINDLY ONES -- #57-69 and "The Castle" from Vertigo Jam
10. THE WAKE -- #70-75

OMG I'm so glad I'm not the only one like that. I've managed a great whopping 452 words today before I decided just to edit stuff and have done. Congrats on the word count love!

Have you read any other Gaiman???? If not, it's worth trying his novels too. I'm getting very addicted to his writing.

I actually read Sandman totally out of order and wasn't ever that confused. I agree they progressively get better, but Preludes and Nocturnes is pretty good.

Luckily the library has them all (if not in my stupid (size of a drive through) branch) so I have to pay to order them, but I'm looking forward to it.

Thank you! I think it's because I've been running this scene through my head so often that I already know the mechanics of it, and my fingers are free to extemporise around the action with description and stuff.

Note to self: Do this more often.

:)

Well done with yours too. 452 is decent enough, specially added in with editing.

We are like writing twins. I can't write more than 100 words a day, usually. :/

now that would be scary - if I knew a book was going to take 3 years... of course, Transgressions DID, but I blame the discovery of LiveJournal and RPG for that! I don't want Junction X to have taken 3 years... I'm not as young as I used to be!!!

2000 words in 2 days? I'm in awe of you. Why can't I write like that?...Perhaps I shall have to sacrifice a goat to your awesomeness. (Or maybe not a goat? Will a timtam do?) :)

Congratulations!

But there is young man adoration. Naked. Young. Man. Adoration.

I like the sound of that.

Also, I'm so glad it's not me going, "lalala, if I don't think about writing etc".

It's rare. Believe me. I think it's because I have been visualising this scene for weeks and weeks and so I just know it well enough to romp away with it.

Goat please. You can't have a timtam curry.

:)
