Film Night - Wild Hogs

YUK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh why oh why oh why didn't I go and check the reviews before I went to see it?  This week was MY CHOICE and rather than go and see Blades of Glory (which canaries_chick really wanted to go and see) I thought I'd be safe - seeing as how it smashed all records in the first weekend in America.

What was I thinking?   Just awful awful awful awful awful.  Unwitty script, dreadful performances, hideous stereotypes (it didn't even do what sometimes the Americans are good at doing, taking the piss out of themselves), the only jokes seemed to be gay-bashing jokes which had me on edge from the word go.  What was Macy thinking?

*shudder*

We walked out after 45 mins, and we've only ever walked out on one film before (New World) - we didn't even walk out on Lost in Translation.

Why didn't you go and see Blades of Glory? I keep hearing it is silly but fun and the slashy context is just dripping from the movie...

Wild Hogs? I doubt I will ever see that unless it pops up on HBO at 3am some night....cause I just have no desire to ever see it...Grindhouse however...

I don't like Will Ferrell, and to be honest CC's taste in comedies is often suspect....

But I won the prize for crappest film so far this year...

That was so fast! Amazon told me it wouldn't arrive until the end of the month. I think they lied so I'd be impressed with their speed. :)

I think they say that because they can't guarantee they'll have copies and they may have to order more from USA.

Grindhouse is a Quinten Tarantino double-feature homage to b-movies

One is a zombie flick and the other's about a seriel killing stunt man with a death-proof car.

I want to see it.

Truly bad. I love Tim Allen, and I love Macy and with the box office I thought it must have been witty - but it was terrible. Appalling script.

I don't like Will Ferrell either, but my roomie picked that (Blades of Glory) as our film one day, so I watched it. He's not the focus, though he has a few "ugh" moments, so all in all it wasn't bad. The gay "subtext" wasn't sub-anything, either.

Glad I could find out about Wild Hogs, though. We sort of wanted to see that, but things have put it off. Guess there's a good reason.
