So, I'm listening to JUST A MINUTE on Radio Four (Talk for a subject on one minute without hestitation, deviation or repetition) and Julian Clary gets the subject "Bodice Rippers" and he says:

"I've never actually read a Bodice Ripper, but I have read a Breeches Ripper and, er...."

And then someone buzzed, accused him of hesitation and won the subject

SO I NEVER GOT TO HEAR WHICH BREECHES RIPPER HE'D READ!!

I'm going to have to email him now.....

I was going to ask, "Who's Julian Clary?"--I know, I know, terribly American of me--but then I realized, "Hey, this is the internet! Look him up!"

So, yeah, no fair that you didn't get to find out the tile of the breeches ripper he'd read. Send him a signed copy of Standish with your compliments. Next time he's asked, he'll be able to name your book.
