Where the Boys Are has another Review, in the San Francisco Bay Reporter. I do get a mention, (squee!) but I am crushed in a decidedly Diva Manner that my story was not considered to be "intellectual"

Goals for 2008. Sell a novel. Sell at least 10 short stories. Do at least 100k of Next Novel. Keepin' them simple, and not over-reaching myself. How about you - what are yours?

I gotta say, though 'Drug Colors' was mentioned in the paragraph with the 'un-intellectual' example, it's actually part of the sentence that refers to international contributions to the antho. If that helps.

You read too fast. As leebenoit said, it wasn't your story that was non-intellectual, it was the Vegas "sploogefest." Though given the choice between intellectual and visceral, for an erotic tale, I'll bet the latter would get more readers.

Besides, anybody who says they read sexy books for mental stimulation is putting on airs. "I read Playboy for the articles..." riiiight.

Welcome to the club. I appreciate it so much when you (or anyone) refers me to a review -- there's usually some hint of what to expect. It's nice to at least be prepared for a broadside (or to open a review without having to don the flame-retardant suit.)
