I don't rec HP fics terribly often, because I don't read any any more - makes sense! But I have to rec this one, because gehayi wrote it for my McTabby birthday fic drabble-fest prompt "Dumbledore finds himself in St Peter's waiting room with Sirius"

I hoped that the recipient of the prompt would see what I was hinting for, a thorough dissing down of the Great and Mighty Dumbledore, loved and mourned by millions of fan boys and girls, but she didn't - although what I got was nice.

However - Gehayi stepped into the breach and did exactly what I prayed she'd do, she has had Sirius - and Regulus, Myrtle, James, Lily, and countless others who died in Dumbledore's service and in Dumbledore's care, rip him a new one and teach him that he's not quite so wise as he imagined.

It's hard to pick my favourite bit as all the characters (some obvious and some surprising) give him such a hard time, but here goes. (And oh oh oh ... the interraction between Sirius and Regulus makes me well up)

"Harry w-w-wasn't the only p-p-person he wr-wr-wronged," said Professor Quirrell, who had appeared, slouching, in a corner. He scowled at Dumbledore. "You m-might have n-n-noticed that I was p-p-possessed. You s-saw me every d-day--three times a day at m-meals, and l-lets not forget the t-t-teacher's lounge. Not to m-mention that y-you had to s-see me to ask m-me to create a challenge to pr-pr-protect the Stone."

"And you made the same mistake with Barty Crouch, Junior," Sirius pointed out. "You ate and drank and socialised with him for a year, and you never even thought once that 'Moody'--your old, old friend--might have been replaced by someone else."

"So much for Legilimency," muttered James.

"If he's a Legilimens," said Regulus with a snort, "then I'm Morgan le Fay."

Go read At The Lord's Door And then tell me you still admire the old git.

1. Is there a trick to getting anything posted on www.queerwriters.com?  I've tried several times, book releases, EAA Directorship change, and other things but the webmaster has never even replied with a "no thanks."  Any advice?

2. Is Favorite PASTimes a Christian based site?  It certainly seems to be showing a pre-ponderance of Good Healthy Clean Livin' Christian Historical fiction, but I can't work out where the flipping profile is on Blogspot, truly MySpace and Blogspot baffle me completely. There's no point me promoting Le Gay Historical over there if all I'm going to get is Christian Women covering their faces with their aprons in horror. yes yes - offensive [livejournal.com profile] erastes. Go sue me.  the blurb says it's welcome to all, but I rather doubt that... I'll ask.

Made my deadlines - actually submitted five stories in the last week. Go me.  Three are for the same publisher, so I'm unlikely to be lucky lucky lucky, but we'll see if I'm even lucky once. I've got two longer stories to write this month - one by the 11th, and of course need to get the package off the Agent.

Haven't updated on the Snucius recently, but they are big and healthy and loving and they both love Lili inordinately and let her boss them around and beat them up on a regular basis.

EAA membership is now closed. It will re-open again on 1st August. If you aren't seeing your name on the site yet, don't panic, I'll get it done by Sunday at the latest - I have about 30 new members to add yet.

And GIP - the Puppy that Voldemort will be reincarnated into.  "Get me my kibble, MINION!"

And now. Bed. *whoosh*
