God. I’m tired.
Jul. 31st, 2010 08:32 pmI suppose that’s because I’ve been housebound and pretty much chair bound (I turn into a Weeble every time I stand up – except I don’t remember Weebles flailing their arms desperately. also Weebles wobble but they don’t fall down. Useless Erasteses. Erasti?)
i have discovered that I can download games directly onto the PS3! This is rather good. And what’s even gooder is that – unbeknownst to me, the CADS Ubisoft (damn their soft Frenchie bottoms, I fart in their general direction) have released TWO – not one, but TWO – add on games for Assassin’s Creed II with more levels, more areas of the cities, new moves – oh happy happy happy me!!!!! What’s hilarious is that one of them deals directly with “the mad monk Savonarola” and the Bonfire of the Vanities – hilarious because Chris Smith has written a novel about this part of history, so I shall be peering at every monk and every young swaggering artist in Florence in case they are Guiseppe and Tomasino.
I’ll have the time too, to work my way through my box of games and be ruthless and sell some on ebay. I’m never ever ever going to finish Max Payne, or Freedom Fighters (to be honest I can hardly finish the first levels) and stuff like that, so on ebay with them. Just realised that posting them is going to be a nuisance…Oh well, I’ll work something out.
Bugger all worth watching on the TV, thank Glod for the internet. Last night I watched “The Ghost Writer” which I hadn’t even HEARD of before (perhaps because much of the world is boycotting Polanski?) and really enjoyed it. It was excellently done with the Ghost Writer himself seemingly having no personality, whereas the guy he’s writing the book for (Pierce Brosnan) positively blows you over with his. The ending was brilliantly done—brave, and the sort of thing I wish I could write. If you aren’t boycotting Polanski (no tirades in the comments please, I shall only ignore them) then do watch it—stellar cast including Olivia Williams, Tom Wilkinson, Ewan McGregor (you have to work hard NOT to watch a film with him in, these days).
Also started to watch Avatar: The Last Airbender, but found it hugely dull and gave up after an hour. If i want to watch long sequences of kids doing Tai Chi I’ll watch You Tube or something.
