Because I've definitely been converted to Twitter. *shock* Erastes gets blasphemous. What? You were surprised?

I never used to "get" Twitter at all. Or Facebook. Still don't get Facebook, to be honest, far too clunky to use and full of people I know nothing about.

but Twitter is incredibly useful. Not only is it a fun way of getting in touch with people and transmitting your news quickly and swiftly but I've found that almost a secondary function.  It's amazingly handy for quick answers!  Several times I've started a tweet with "Dear [company] moan moan moan" only to have the company reply in seconds with an answer and a solution!  I've also had lovely IT geeks who must have alerts set up for buzz words (no idea how this is done) who have helped me with Tekkie problems. I've had companies that I've ordered check that I was happy with an order.

I've had communication with the local libraries about Pride events, got advice on books from the London Library and a Tweet site which specialises in 20th century London, ditto one of Victorian London.

It's not that great for promotion, to be honest, because unless someone goes to your page to see what you are up to (and I doubt people do that) your promo tweet soon gets subsumed by all the hundreds of others and unless you tweet it every hour, is less likely to be seen than a blog update. and if you update every hour, that's just irritating. But some people will do this…

anyhow. no agenda, just wanted to say that's its good to find a social network that actually works.

the two black and whites are almost spitting images of Lucius and Severus. I didn't adopt them until they were one year old, so it could have been.

It isn't them, but I had to count spots to be sure!  specially as the whiter cat even has Lucius's Hitler Hair.

How to remember 1000 years of Kings and Queens. Cockerney Stylee! This is utterly brilliant and I can't stop singing it.

1. On Elisa Rolle's review blog:

Seems she really liked it, and it surprised her too, which was what I was hoping for.

I have to pay my homage to Erastes, since I started to understand where she was heading well in the working of the novel; I had a suspicious that the man who would have been Crispin’s lover was not so easy to pinpoint, but sincerely, I was not expecting the “dark” turn the story took almost in the end. It was a surprise but it was also quite right, once you put together all the pieces.

2. On Mizlovelovesbooks – and wow, they really REALLY liked it. (ignore the menage label, there's no menage)

If you enjoy a book that isn’t rushed, where everything unfolds at a languid pace, this book is a delicious stroll through the life of Crispin, Jude and Myles in a time where, if you one was privileged enough, valets attended those in the household and servants moved through life in the background. Intrigue, deception, love, mixed messages, and a mystery that chills and much as thrills, Mere Mortals is one tale I’m glad to have read.

LOL – I just read what I wrote yesterday and it included this marvellous piece of genius.

Stevie pulled at the tie and it undid in her hand, with shaking fingers

Perhaps if she was a zombie that sentence would work. or a leper.
