Kingdom of Heaven...

Who's idea was it pls to put Orlando Bloom in the lead role?  Irons steals every scene he's in.  Just.  STAGGERINGLY bad.

Now the spork has ended, we have a final discussion over at [livejournal.com profile] deadlyhollow as to why we think "All was well" is the biggest literary lie since "Two legs bad, four legs better" and there have been some stellar comments. Do pop over and chip in, whatever your views.

I'd like to share [livejournal.com profile] gehayi's poem regarding this topic:

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

Children are still being Sorted;
Hopes of Slytherins are thwarted.
(McG had the Slyths evicted,
Now as cowards they're depicted.)
Muggles? Still considered fools,
And why obey a Muggle's rules?
High school sweethearts always wed
And remain so till they're dead,
While it's in wizard genes inherent
That kids are clones of either parent.
The war has nothing disarranged;
No thought, idea, or bias changed.

And this is all ideal, you know:
All hail the mighty Status Quo!
Freeze wizards all in amber deep,
Place them in cryogenic sleep,
And dump them all in pickle brine
While each one swears that things are fine.

Hark to the steady, tolling knell--
A new Dark Lord says, "All is well."

Did she expand it? I could have sworn I saw it a few days ago and it was shorter...

Regardless, it does manage to capure the whole "no really JKR, you do not get to say and they all lived happily ever after, you really don't" sentiment pretty darn well. I'm heading over to that post now to check it out.

I didn't see the original, so quite possibly! I was hoping we could get a few comments from my flist over there! yay!

Yeah... I think "a few" would be an underestimation, seeing as how I've probably met my comment quote for the month in that one post. Still, it's a good discussion, and there have been some very interesting bits pointed out over there.

Nope, I didn't expand it. It's exactly the same.

And thanks!

I was just hallucinating then - but hey, at least I was right about seeing it before. There must be some hope for me then =)

The poem says it all, really.

I see you're also visiting a certain funny cat site.
