SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mar. 23rd, 2008 11:11 amI know that a lot of my American friends are sick of the sight of it, but this is the first snow we've had this year. and it's blizzarding! So hard that my dad and I have agreed that it's best if I don't go over there today, which is a shame as I had a lovely duck and game chips thing planned so that will have to wait till tomorrow.
Lili, for one, is disgusted and is welded to the radiator. The boys went out to play but got too cold so came back in for breakfast with pink ears and noses. So sweet! (and freezing feet!)
One of my guilty pleasures is on this afternoon "The Slipper and the Rose" which is a cup-a-soup, blanket over the knees, singalong fest! Just LOVE it.

Date: 2008-03-23 02:01 pm (UTC)Seriously, glad you like it, but OMG, we got stranded in a blizzard during a layover in Detroit on Friday, so I am NOT loving snow at the moment. Stuck in an airport that was little better than a bus station for hours because of miserable frozen water really sort of ruined me for the stuff. ;)

Date: 2008-03-23 03:39 pm (UTC)It may have tried again overnight, because when I went up to the paper shop this morning there were occasional bits of icy slush on a few gardens and walls. Otherwise, all we've had is cold drizzle.
Bah, I say again!
ah, snow...

Hope it is all gone and Spring is there when I go camping in Norfolk next weekend otherwise I am not crawling out from under my two duvets until the pub opens!
Re: ah, snow...
Date: 2008-03-24 12:13 am (UTC)Now, hot is when you're baking the oaks on taproots a hundred feet deep until they wilt and it's been 110 effing degrees for two weeks solid.
As with snow, it is entirely possible to have Too Much of A Good Thing.
We had one year about a decade ago when it was over 100 degrees F for every day of six weeks. (Airplane tires were starting to have issues.) No, not looking forward to rapid rise from global weather instability!
Now, some other Mericans round here would call me a total wuss, because it's a dry heat. Usually around 30 per cent humidity when that kinda heat is going on. They say things like, "Now try that when it's 80 or 90 per cent humidity!" (As in Arizona monsoon season. Blearggh!)
Just say no, please...
And no, I have no idea why I'm working here, instead of living in a decent place with Brit-style gardens and lots of good bookstores and a decent music scene and lots of pointy trees, like Seattle or Vancouver or something.
