THREE MONTHS!!

As some of you know, Lucius (see icon) is a wanderer. First it was a day, then 3 days, then a week, then 2 weeks, and three months ago he just went and I thought that was it.  However - 20 minutes ago he just sauntered back in as if he'd never been away. The absolute BRAT.  Severus is very very annoyed, spat at his brother and has stomped out into the garden.  I am not going to worry about Lucius any more. I love him to pieces but he's not a stayer, and Severus is.  Wherever else Lucius is living, he's obviously being well looked after- I don't think it's local as this is a small village and I would have seen him. It's very annoying.  He's just as loving and cuddly as ever and - as I say - it's as if he's never been away.  But he does upset the dynamic - Lili is uneasy and Severus was furious. Who says that cats don't have feelings!

The dynamic is definitely unsettled. Lili is upstairs and Severus spends more time outside than in. It's very sad. When I first got them they were completely devoted to each other but there are territory problems now, I think...

Was Lucius the more dominant when they first came to live with you? That might explain Severus's sulks; feeling like he has to give over to his bro? Or maybe he's conflicted; wants to give Lucius what for, but remembers how things used to be...?

An unenviable situation, anyway. Poor Erastes, too!

I think you matter to him--that's why he came back.

If he were a human, he'd be a rockstar on tour---and now he's coming back to visit a loyal fan (^_^).

Atleast he's not dead or anything. I'm sure if you had the resources you'd install a satellite tracking device on this guy!

Yes - who knows how long he'll deign to hang around - slumming it - this time?

I'm relieved that he's well fed and clean, so whereever he's been he's been ok.

Good lord. And it was only last week, wasn't it, that we were commiserating with you about him having gone missing!

You didn't get him microchipped in the end, did you? Maybe you should grab him and take him along to the vet and see if anyone else has chipped him, and if so, who!

Checking on that would give you a chance to reassure somebody else who's now worried sick about him, in that case. Boy, the name seems altogether too appropriate, doesn't it?

I will - can't feel anything, but that's no guarantee. I'll see if he hangs around long enough this time. Not forking out £40 quid just for him to bugger off again. I'd like to get him chipped, but of course that's only any use if he gets picked up as a stray, and judging by the state of him - clean, well fed (but oddly hungry and tired) he's not actually been straying. Tis a puzzlement.

Last time it was only a few days, so I don't suppose he'll be around for long, once he's recharged his batteries.

You know they now have a small GPS device, especially for cats and dogs? You can clip it on their collar and track them through your computer...

I understand that your other cats are upset. By now Lucius is somewhat of an intruder and demands his space back.
Reminds me of the two cats my sister had. One of them was also a wanderer. She took off and was gone for over *six* months before coming back. The other cat was totally pissed off. I swear she was thinking of a devious plan...

Oh, I'm so glad he's back! See? I knew he missed you! (I'm not sure I'd question him on his whereabouts, though. Especially if you happen to spot any snake-shaped tattoos on his front leg.)
