I'm sure there are some World of Warcraft players out there.....

Two questions - and they are really STUPID n00b questions:

1. How the hell do you SELL stuff?  I've given all my items to a merchant but he won't give me any money.

2. I've done something really stupid and run into an area where I keep getting killed off in about ten seconds.  How can I get away???

"Save your writing and delete your account" is the best advice I can give you. I've seen many excellent writers lose their books and writing time because of WoW. It's the work of the devil. :)

*laughs*

Well, as for my file security, I back everything up on my website and on google docs, but yes - it is just another form of procrastination...

I meant losing books as in - having written a third, then losing interest until the book died and they simply didn't write it - or anything else. I have a friend (great novellist, twice published, several publishers are waiting for her stuff, she has an agent ... and she also has 5 character on WoW. I'm amazed she can hold down her teaching job).

WOW is evil. Seriously. I've known at least two women who really became slackers because they became addicted to that stupid game. >.> One of them was a former editor. :(

1) Player merchant or non-player merchant. If it's a player merchant, I think you're being ripped off. NP merchants will tell you when they will not accept the stuff you are trying to sell them. Another question is: Are you on a trial account? If you are, then you might not be able to sell anything. I can't remember the rules governing trial accounts at the moment.

2) In your bag there's a Hearthstone. Get clear of the creatures that are killing you and use it. Takes about 15 seconds. It will take you to the last place you accepted as home, but if you haven't used it before, it will probably take you the new character quest grounds.

What are you playing as and on what server? If I have a character there I can show you the ropes.

An NPC merchant should always pay you for an item that can be purchased. If not, then your game is flicted =) There are some items they won't buy but it says so in those cases. Or do you mean using the Auction house? That's a whole different ballgame.

Sometimes you have to just die, take the rez sickness and deal with it to get out of a bad place. Or have an overpowered helper come keep you up so that you can complete your objective and bolt.

What realm do you play on?

I completely agree. Friend of mine put on 10kgs (20 lbs), and both she and husband CANT TALK ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE even when I repeatedly told them I have recovered from an online gaming addiction AND I WILL NEVER CONSIDER GOING BACK>

Sorry for the caps, but my level of anger and frustration is quite high.

NP merchant. But no-one's said he can't sell anything.

I'm on a trial, yes, I don't think I'll get a subscription as it will just destroy my life!!

In the end i got the spirit healer to do it - because I didn't have enough time to use the hearthstone, i was immediately attacked by creatures WAY above my level (5)...

I'm called Llusst, but I have no idea what server I'm in. I'm in the Eastern Kingdom, lurking around Stormwind City at the moment, bumping into peeople and being stupid. :)

Yes, but HOW do I sell to an merchant? (although someone said above that I can't - if I'm a trial player)

I'm in the Eastern kingdom, in Stormfire City right now. Being a N00B.

I'll get bored with it soon, I did with Dragon Fable. I can't see the point of fighting games at the best of times, and I can have better chat with people on IM than I can with Elves.

Thank god it's a paid thing, as I can't afford it, the tempation is taken from me.

BUT I WOULD LIKE A HORSIE!!!

Stormwind City. Had it right the first time.

I looked it up and you should be able to sell items to vendors (merchants). If you are still hanging around the city, go to the main street and enter the first doorway to your right. This is the cheese maker's house. You can sell to him. Click on him. That should open up his screen, where you can buy the cheese. Stay on this screen, as the other one is to buy back what you have already sold, up to 12 past items. At the same time, your bag should open up. Left-click on the item you want to sell. The item should disappear and the money appear in the counter. If not, something's hosed and you probably want to turn in a ticket so a game master can have a look at what's going on.

Hmm. I don't know how trial works. It may be that you can't sell :( Typically you go up to the vendor and right click it, then right click the item in your inventory that you want to sell and it autotransacts.

The realm is what server you play on. I'm on Uldum. Are you a Hordie?

Good luck with it all!

I could sell on my trial account. Other people have given you descriptions on what to do though - just remember, you right-click on things (generally) to interact with them. So right-click on the vendor (the cursor should turn into a little brown bag when you're close enough), then open your backpack and right-click on the things you want to sell.

The server I play on is Korgath, but I play Horde characters, generally.
