That's because he's an civil war soldier, you moron. What's he going to change into - a three piece suit?

*kicks self*

And a lovely TV day today. Princess Caraboo and now... Waterloo!  *wallows in the Regency*

Well, he could'a changed his socks. If he was lucky enough to have a second pair.

It's not a bad idea to remind people from time to time of differences between their own time and the time the characters are living in. You might even say something like...

"he was wearing most of the clothes he had on the day before. Of course changing into a three-piece suit was out of the question, no matter how much he might have wanted to."

*laughs * Yes, specially as he'd need a TARDIS.

Oh I have! I have two stories written in a good old classic pulp sci-fi style with two gay boys who own a *cough* trading spaceship.

I sold one to Howarth for their gays in space antho - but unfortunately it went bust. I'd like to write a whole series of stories with these characters and publish as a set at some point.

That could work, though -- "...but it was warm today, so he'd slung his coat over the strap of his rucksack." Not actually wearing it, and a reason he wasn't.

Don'tcha hate it when that happens?

OTOH - Princess Caraboo! I loved that movie. (Mmmm, Kevin Kline)

BTW, I had a dream last night where your name appeared as part of latin taxonomic description of a genus (phylum?) of plants! 'erastes runcornium' and 'erastes rosiatum' and the like. I remember thinking, in the dream, "Plants? And I thought it was Greek, not Latin."

I'm glad it's not just me it happens to - and not just me who has silly dreams!

I'm a complete pushover for that period's military costume - the shoulders, the skintight buckskins, the hessian boots, the tail coats affording glimpses of tight buttocks. DAMN they look good.
