Just for Brits
Jul. 24th, 2006 10:30 pmFilm Four is Free. I die happy.
The trailer for the "Dragon's Den" programme has to be one of the best trailers EVER.
Am reprising my boys from the gay science fiction piece I submitted to Greg Herren's Distant Horizons and giving them another adventure. Would be nice to have some regular characters that I could do a few stories about.
Nothing else to report. Although I tell you what, beta-ing for someone who doesn't bother to say "thanks" really pisses me off. Next time, I shall say "no"

Date: 2006-07-24 09:39 pm (UTC)for the glory of seeing my name up there in print... er, I mean, because it's good practice for my proof-reading and copy-editing. And because I get to read the stories before everyone else.no subject
Date: 2006-07-24 09:44 pm (UTC)I can't name the seven dwarves as I keep thinking one of them was Sleazy.

Date: 2006-07-24 09:54 pm (UTC)Could the beta thing be a misunderstanding? A lost email? I can't believe someone would actually be as rude as that, how awful!

Date: 2006-07-24 10:01 pm (UTC)I hope the "thanks" is accompanied by chocolate and an interesting story for why it was late.

Date: 2006-07-24 10:12 pm (UTC)It's a brilliant trailer, far better than the programme itself!!

Date: 2006-07-24 10:19 pm (UTC)I appreciate my beta's work and love her to little pieces, and I know I am very lucky that we can work together so well. I think it's just a part of the mutual deal to say thank you. In the a/n, with a link to a story or a picture she might enjoy, with a personal email, whatever. Even if you won't work together on the next fic. It's such a stupid attitude to disregard our betas, because without them, there would be a much slower development for the writers.
I know I'm preaching to the choir. So I'll just stop the rant now and simply tell you:
Thanks for betaing, for writing and sharing the experience, and for being around on LJ!

Date: 2006-07-25 12:55 am (UTC)I always thank my betas and give credit where credit's due. To do otherwise is just shitty.

Absolutely. Happened to me, too, and it's bloody rude.

Date: 2006-07-25 06:45 am (UTC)I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding, (i hope) but I could have done without it.
