I've had this site on my bookmarks for quite a while but I don't think I'd actually looked hard at the covers one at a time before.

Look at these two in particular. It's SO obvious that they were originally women and have just been changed to make them look more masculine.   It's Look at the legs on the first one, and the torso of the second one is converted.  What concerns me is that Daddy appears to be standing in quicksand. Perhaps that's why Sonny is grinning.   And the third?  HE'S GOT TITS! and not Man Tits either!

And oh!  Look at this one!  It must be gay American Civil War.  I must try and start tracking these books down.

some people liking oysters and some people liking snails? (I love that scene, it kills me, Tony curtis is absolutely bricking it, the next time we see him, voila no where near Lawrence Olivier)

I bet no artist would agree to do a gay boy romance cover if they knew what it was, so they had 'em do m/f pulp covers and changed them up. Either that, or it's a deliberate feminization of one partner, which has interesting social connotations. Anyway, where can you get those books? I'd love to get my hands on a couple of them and read them to see what they're like. :-D

Don't tempt me ...

Actually, I've never written a comedy. Hmmm, also this is a war I know nothing about, because this pic screams Vietnam at me.

I need more frisky soldiers in my head like a hole in the same.

I hate to admit it *cough wheeze hack cough* but I think I read some of these back in the day. Quite old paperbacks, falling apart (and I've no idea where we got them, and it's far too late now to ask when I *think* I wasn't supposed to see them up there at all) but they were pretty bad.

You are entirely welcome, Victor is reprinting a lot of his work with MLR press and so is William Maltese... Too wonderful to have the books back in circulation, since finding those paperbacks in tact will be mighty hard.
