Heh. I keep thinking that too. Maybe it's the British mindset - only baddies have guns. But didn't Greg have a gun when we first met him in episode 1? I can't remember now.
I haven't been watching it, but maybe they are speculating that it is almost impossible to get guns in the UK now (unless of course you are a 14 year old in a gang).
I must admit to having played a fair few post-apocalyptic rpgs in the past, and the game group generally sorted out a pretty tight plan for supplies - what we generally ended up doing was going for guns that you could easily make your own bullets for and using bows as well... Though come to think of it - why not just raid the armoury in an army base?
Exactly! Everyone they encounter on this programme has guns and yet they just don't arm themselves. It's barmy. As far as I remember from the original 70's version they were far more sensible.
In general I tend to prefer a lot of the tv shows made in the 70s to now-they tended to be a bit more 'honest', less derivative and hadn't a care in the world for the US market...
