Who's in the TARDIS?
Jan. 4th, 2009 11:30 pmI suddenly realised that I hadn't commented on the New Doctor.
Personally I think he looks bloody promising. I am so thrilled to pieces that they didn't go for any of the "dead certs" that I saw mentioned over and over and over again, Paterson, Grant, Simm and the rest. Yes, he's young, but he'll only be about a year younger than the so-far younger doctor when he takes over, but he sure can act - I've seen him in a couple of supporting roles and was impressed even if I had no idea what his name was.
I also like immensely that they didn't go with a "pretty pretty man" and have gone with character, in the way they had with Ecclestone and Tennant, this man isn't handsome, not in any book - but he's charismatic, hugely so - and even has a touch of Heath Ledger in him, imho, I think if he can express an ancient soul, in the way the producers say he can, he'll make the part his own. I hope so. I'm so happy that they've kept the faith of the show.
And look at those HANDS!!!!!
