No!

Am watching Star Trek Phase II (Blood & Fire) (the gay nephew episode) and Kirk has just asked Peter if he wants to be part of the away team.   There's so much wrong with this.

1. Peter's wearing a RED SHIRT.(noooooooooooo)

2. Peter is determined to marry his gay lover, Alex, when he returns to the Enterprise. (noooooo!!!!)

3. Kirk would never ASK anyone if they wanted to come along! (no!)

but still. SO FUCKING GOOD. If you haven't tried these episodes and you are a fan - don't miss 'em. The music, the cinematography, the special effects, it will melt your original trekkie heart, believe you me.

I'm a serious Trek-head (own all the series on DVD) I watched the gay episode on Phase II mainly because it was penned by original series writer David Gerrold. The thing is, they are being SO reverent to the original series that they are also incorporating the unrestrained, forced acting style that was typical of the original show. Mimicking the shortcomings made it feel a bit like a parady. But it is kind of cool that Gerrold was able to dust off his 40 year old script and finally make use of it, since the network obviously had to deep-six it.

Yes! Even the acting is the same! I hadn't really noticed that. Now I have to torrent the rest of them. Just wonderful - and I suppose it's so easy these days to replicate the special effects of those days!

Too many exclamation marks!

How are you, dear, haven't seen you around much - I hope that means you are writing?

Yeah, I crush the actor who play's Peter. He's been playing gay ST characters for a while now (though I've been told he wants to do more straight roles from now on).
