Dwarf Index 1: Grumpy
Mar. 2nd, 2009 03:48 pmAnother reason I wouldn't get an Xbox. This crap makes me seriously consider getting an Mac.
Oh my god, I really want one of these, though. I think I'd have to get some net curtains though, if I did. Or a much bigger house. Assembled in four hours!! Good lord.
Oh good. The garage rang. Apparently they only charged me for a second hand alternator last time. That's fine, fair enough. and your point is? Is my car ready? Er no. Did I want a new alternator or a second hand one. Well as the price of a new one is 180 quid (according to you, you bastard) I'll have another second hand one. This will of course ensure that the car will break down in another 3 months. However you won't be getting the custom.
So what you are telling me, is that you haven't got me a new alternator yet, and you haven't, after a week, even started work on the car? Is there any chance you'll be done this week?
My blood pressure is just about through the roof. I had to miss my signing on last week, i may lose my unemployment entirely if I can't get in this week.
And Lili has cystitis and I feel dreadful I can't get her to the vet.
I heard back from the Sealed Knot. They want FIFTY QUID EACH for use of their photos on the video. So I've deleted that video. £50!! seeing as how a book trailer is nothing but a bit of fun, and I get about 200 views each, that's ludicrous. Money grubbing *Muttley muttering* Dick Dastardly.
And I'm struggling with a sex scene. Is there any good news today?

Date: 2009-03-02 05:46 pm (UTC)Also, I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss Microsoft on the whole. Microsoft's Ric Weiland left over 65 million to gay charities in his will last year, this isn't a Microsoft hates gays thing, this is XBox making a blanket decision about a word, and then not following through on protecting one of its users. They'll change the policy, they've always been quick to move under media scrutiny--they issued an apology on 2/27.
As for Apple, they has a rep for being a gay-friendly brand because studies concluded that more GLTB techies use their products than they do any other company. Their opposition to Prop 8 and supporting that opposition with cash, was just good business. When put on the spot about Prop 8 by it's supporters, they had to do more than just say they were against it-- they had divvy up, or it would've been commercial suicide. :)

*BTW - I'm not vic blaming here, I'm not saying one shouldn't stand up for who they are, but you pick your battles, you know. I certainly wouldn't be attending any white-supremacist rallies anytime soon with my magen-David necklace on and a t-shirt saying 'we let you have the banks back and look what you did!' I'm asking for abuse.
