I've been Blogging
Apr. 1st, 2009 08:28 amOn Hoydens & Firebrands I blog a bit about my research for the English Civil War and will be giving out a copy of Transgressions.
On Unusual Historicals I talk about The Green Fairy (not poor Lorne).
I’ve been up since 730 which ok would have been normal when I was working but certainly isn’t now. Severus was missing all night (or so I thought) because he normally always sleeps on the end of the bed. And then he didn’t come to say morning when Lili began her Dawn Bellowing™ at 6ish. So I read for a while (the new Oscar Wilde book by Brandreth, which is fearfully dull and self-indulgent) then got up to make sure he wasn’t lying in a heap downstairs. As soon as I put my trousers on he appeared. Grrrrr. I see a nap in my future.
Mere Mortals, or as Chris Smith calls it MeMo :) is still chugging ahead nicely. I’m happy to do 1000 words a day, I don’t feel that I’m wasting my time if this is achieved, and I’m actually doing something.
Couple of good April Fool’s I’ve seen – the Guardian is closing down and moving to Twitter *snorts* and Alan Shearer taking over Newcastle. LJ’s one was funny, although there was wank. So what’s new.
I have real problems with black and purple sites – i often end up highlighting the text in order to be able to read it without squinting, so it was great to find THIS LINK today on Jessewave’s blog which has little widgets to sort out annoying websites. The second one down will change a black site to a while one, and all you have to do is drag the bookmarklet from the page to your toolbar! Simples!

Date: 2009-04-01 09:13 am (UTC)ETA: And April fools were good here today. The daily paper carried a story about Microsoft buying Apple, and also one about how AM Radio waves have been found to be a surprise source of free internet access! :) I love April 1st!

Date: 2009-04-01 09:27 am (UTC)I used to like the Daily Telegraph's approach - they posted stories that seemed to be hoaxes but weren't.

Date: 2009-04-01 01:05 pm (UTC)MeMo. Like Nano, lol. Go you with your 1000 words a day. The garden is calling for me to trim a few dead things, then hoovering and washing. *wipes forehead* I may have to nap with you!

Date: 2009-04-01 02:22 pm (UTC)You can also import your own style sheet and use it on any site. If you make a stylesheet that specifies black text and white backgrounds that might help?
