We shall not, we shall not be moved...
May. 3rd, 2009 09:58 pmJust to let anyone know who might be interested, I'm NOT transferring to OMG IT'S THE NEW BLACK Dreamwidth. I've taken six? years to establish this LJ and I'm staying right here. There might be advertising here that I don't agree with, but there is advertising on American TV that I don't agree with too, would that mean I wouldn't watch American TV if I was in America? There are videos on Youtube that I don't agree with - does that mean I don't watch videos there? There are views on the Goldbergs blogs that I find I'm opposed to but I don't stop reading blogs because of that. Basically LJ is a business, same as anything else. I advertise gay sex on my website - I wouldn't expect any fundies to cancel their accounts because of me. If I get pissed off enough to leave I'll simply cancel this account and continue to use my weblog, which is what I should be using full-time anyway.
I've seen these fads come and go a dozen times. Last time it was Insane Journal I think, or Greatest Journal.or Deadjournal - I can't keep up.

Date: 2009-05-03 09:13 pm (UTC)Since there's a cross-posting function built into Dreamwidth, I may start, at least, by posting a lot of stuff there and cross-posting it to LJ; but I'm thinking whether I want to separate out my activities anyway. I already post only very-fandom-related stuff at IJ, particularly if it's got anything in it that LJ might find 'objectionable' - though with those ads, I really don't think they can point fingers!

Date: 2009-05-04 10:16 am (UTC)We're getting perilously close, as well, to doing what we condemn among other people - eliminating the right to free, reasonable speech. It's like that contestant on the beauty show who caused all the rumpus - I may not agree with what she said but I'd defend to the hilt her right to say it in the way she did.
