Book Porn!

Just back from the library with a huge haul.  That’s the trouble with being able to reserve things online, one tends to get carried away. There are still two more books to pick up. Rather glad they weren’t there!!

So: I have:

The Celestial Omnibus and other Stories by EM Forster
Miracle of the Rose – Jean Genet
In the Absence of Men – Philippe Besson
Delirium (Arthur Rimbaud) by Jeremy Reed

(hmmm – are you seeing a theme here?)

The Devil in Amber and The Black Butterfly by Mark Gatiss
The Folded Leaf by William Maxwell
The Handsomest Man in the World by David Leddick
The Facts of LIfe by Patrick Gale

I can’t Imagine what they think of me at my library, really I can’t.

And in the post – EVEN BETTER than shedloads of gay fiction – was “Enzai – Falsely accused” – a PC game that aigooism recced to me. Historical explicitly gay sexual PC game. What’s not to like?  I think it’s got a lot of violence and rape in it, so I probably won’t like THAT, but it’s a new concept for me, so I shall review it on Speak Its Name (as long as there’s no zombies…) (It also took about 3 days to arrive from Asia. I’ve had letters from Yarmouth take longer…)

There’s a huge 3 day M/M Chat over a Literary Nymphs this weekend, over 60 authors are booked so far – including:

Kayelle Allen, Maura Anderson, Mickie B. Ashling, Victor J. Banis, Michael Barnette, Jeanne Barrack, Laura Baumbach, Alex Beecroft, Lee Benoit, Mychael Black, Ally Blue, TC Blue, Pat Brown, James Buchanan, J.M. Colail, Jason Edding, Erastes, Catt Ford, Christine France, Kimberly Gardner, Cassandra Gold, Amber Green, Andrew Grey, Kiernan Kelly, Kate Hill, Jan Irving, Winnie Jerome, Ali Katz, K.C. Kendricks, Sean Kennedy, Shayla Kersten, Marguerite Labbe, Lynn Lorenz, Viki Lyn, JB McDonald, Rowan McBride, Syd McGinley, Z.A. Maxfield, Chrissy Munder, Jet Mykles, Deirdre O'Dare, Elle Parker, Zathryn Priest, Luisa Prieto, Qwillia Rain, Isabelle Rowan, Lee Rowan, Cassidy Ryan, John Simpson, Jenna Hilary Sinclair, Joely Skye, K.Z. Snow, Jaxx Steele, Kate Steele, Katrina Strauss, Ariel Tachna, Julia Talbot, Carolina Valdez, Jaye Valentine & Reno MacLeod, Stevie Woods, Amanda Young.

I’m hoping to entice Donald Hardy out of his shell so he can tease you with the very first snippets of Lover’s Knot which is one of the fall releases (along with Lee Rowan’s Tangled Web). Fingers crossed!!!

Ok – let’s investigate this game….. mwahahahaha.

OMFG: that game sounds amazing.

I'm not really all about the yaoi, but I have a thing for games with realistic psychological issues happening and a buttload of darkness. I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream was incredible, and I love how Bully touches on a lot of dodgier subjects than your standard thing aimed at teenagers.

Do want. I'm looking forward to hearing about it!

Yes, tease Donald - as much as necessary, in fact. Or take a hammer to that shell of his. :D

So far the game is a HUGE disappointment. It's just been a case of pressing return and listening and reading dialogue and there's already been two male rapes. Yuk. There has been ONE "gaming aspect" where you had to decide to sit next to someone or not - and that's the only choice I've had in ½ an hour of playing. Not impressed.

Gahhh I'm sorry you're not enjoying it! I liked it for the psychological aspect, personally, and how you can manipulate into whichever endings you want. But that's just me ~_~;; Sorry for the poor rec~ ^^;;;

ETA: And holy crap, that thing arrived in 3 days? From Asia?! *shakes head* That's like . . . unheard of anywhere else, I think!

I hope more happens for you as a player. The Wiki entry has me intrigued so I'd love for it to be an awesome game!

Well, maybe the "gaming" element will start soon, but so far it hasn't offered me any choice to do anything other than whether to sit next to Jose, or not, hopefully it will improve soon!

I love 'The Celestial Omnibus' collection. I do have a couple of complaints about it, but I won't tell for risk of spoil. You'll like the undertones in 'The Story of a Panic' as much as I did, though, I'm sure ; )
