is Kings up yet?  *Impatient….* yes!

I have a Rentokill flykiller on my desk, and the flies are entirely ignoring it – even SITTING on it.  I love living in the country but the flies depress me. Open the window and it’s like a plague. Next year I’m investing in fly screens, even if I have to sellotape them to the windows.

My new editor for Frost Fair is pretty damned brilliant.  She shows up my entire idiocy. Punctuation? Continuity? Pshaw!!!! Who needs it?  *blushing * Note to self.  The lips are the front of the face, Erastes, not found around the ear region. I suck. :D

i got a stripey egg at last!

Are they sniggering? I bet they're sniggering. I don't even live in the country and the flies were a nightmare last year. Every time I came in from work I'd have to massacre another half dozen. I just bought four very nice really whippy fly swatters, left them all around the house. I'm armed!

LOL, whoops! Sounds like the time I had two guys fighting and when I read it back one of them apparently had three arms.

Last night's Kings was incredibly good, IMO. Looking forward to hearing what you think.

Glad you're getting good editing on FF this time around. Good editing can make the difference between a good book and a great one.

Was excellent!!! Love Culkin, he's such a creepy little fucker and perfect for lurking evil!Hamlet type of role. There's not one thing I don't like about this show. ARgh. Finale coming up soon!!

Our mutual friend with the Peter Pettigrew fetish is doing the editing on FF, and you know how thorough she is!

I think they are sniggering. I've been spraying too, I think I'll be dying before any of them. Swatters may have to be the solution, as I'm losing my mind.

Now three arms would be useful in gay sex.

It was v. unexpected - was called down by the boyfriend who is a wee bit dead and ended up getting involved in complex discussions about the M25, the A303, the M3 and the A3 by proxy of boy who does not drive. And then I had some soup. Was not expecting it to take so long.

Forgive me?

Definitely! One of them was gay, but there was no prospect of sex with the guy he was fighting.

Though weirdly I did have a guy in another story who actually had three arms (it was sci-fi) and there was some innuendo about the advantages it could give him during sex (which entirely freaked out some of the people reading.)

Very thorough - she really ought to be doing it for money, IMO, as she's as good as or better than any editor I've known.

And I agree with you about Culkin, he's perfect in that part. Any word about whether the show is being picked up for a second year? I would really hate to see it end mid-story.

I am doing it for money. I got paid for this. Yay Cheyenne Publishing! (Okay, nominal fee from their point of view, but it makes a difference to me.)

I can't earn much, though. Per Social Security, the amount I can earn has to be 699.00 or below per month. If I earn between 700.00 to 968.00 dollars per month, that counts as a "trial work period." Ten of those, and I lose my disability check.

Oh, and the amount of money that I can earn safely changes each January, so in January I'll have to check the SSI website, see what amount counts as a trial work period for 2010, and then strive not to hit that limit for any month.

The system is uniquely set up to prevent people from being disabled and yet financially independent.

I am so happy to hear that you got paid - you completely deserve it. Not only do you have an eagle eye for typos and spelling errors, you have a good sense of plot and for what works and what doesn't.

The system sounds really stupid - $700 is too much? I get that if you become the next JKR and make millions of dollars, you probably don't need the disability check, but $700? Especially living in the northeast - from what I understand, cost of living is pretty high up there.

Insane.
