Stargate Atlantis - not unhappy about that ending at all! Now I need to watch something else. Had a look at Warehouse 13 but was rather bored right from the outset. Any recommendations? You guys should know the sort of thing I like. Surface seemed to have fizzled out, as did Invasion - is Jericho worth starting with? Did that fizzle too? I have (although it looks brown) a red striped egg. Hurrah! Adopt one today! - Adopt one today!

If you can get Eureka, its good. The best of the Sci-Fi, er, I mean, Syfy Channel. It's been out three years and loads of sci-fi geeky fun.

Synopsis: A man gets hired as the sheriff of a secret town out in the western US that is a government think tank. Think Area 51 in a small town atmosphere, where everyone is a rocket scientist, genetic engineer, or plasma physics scientist. Fun.

In Plain Sight has also had several seasons. The life of U.S. Marshalls in charge of the Witness Protection program. Mary McCormack is a hard-nosed marshall. Nice variation on the ubiquitous cop show.

Burn Notice just ended its third season. A spy gets a 'burn notice', meaning that his agency has cut him loose with no funds, no contacts, in a random city. Our spy's only friends are a trigger-happy, ex-IRA girlfriend, and a retired special ops guy (Sam played by Bruce Campbell) who used to inform on the spy to the FBI. The voiceovers about spycraft are worth the price of admission, and all the actors are great.

Check out "Being Human." Sort of campy, sort of angsty, sort of black comedy . . . a ghost, a werewolf and a vampire as roommates trying to fit into a lower middle class Brit neighborhood. It is four shows into its first season.

We'd just finished a BN marathon and were somewhere in the car and I mentioned I'd like to stop for ice cream. So my husband does this perfect Michael Weston's imitation - "when a spy wants to go for ice cream..."

I about died laughing. I really love that show.

Warehouse 13 bores me, though Robert likes it. I second the recommendation for Burn Notice, but can't think of anything else I'm watching that you're not that I think you'd like. There's an awful lot of crap on TV these days (always, really)

I loved Jericho when it was on ITV4, but I thought it was a casualty of the US writers' strike a couple of years ago?

Yes, well, they rarely show people who look like real people on TV, and unfortunately, I think the demographic they're going for is more likely to want to see hot babes than hot men. :(

Glad you're liking the show, though!

It's weird, because I just don't get why they do it - the plot has nothing to do with half naked women, Weston is almost sexless it seems. With Entourage it works because Hollywood babes are integral to what goes on, but they just seem to get in the way in Miami.

And hey! Who says gay men don't like watching stories about hot gay spies?
