Day one: a song
Day two:  a picture
Day three a book
Day four: a site
Day five a youtube clip
Day six a quote
Day seven:(today!)whatever tickles your fancy

Sharing my love of music hall. Marie Lloyd, Joyce Grenfell, Hinge and Bracket and others under the cut. Bring back The Good Old Days, I say. Hosted by Harry Hill. It's also a celebration of the complete hilarity of British humour, the way we just don't give a stuff about PC-ness.

Adore the gentle and wicked humour. Really ahead of its time in the 1970s. I bet most of the audience didn't understand many of the innuendos.

I wish I'd seen her.

No words. I remember the first time I saw this and I was weeping with laughter. It still makes me laugh.

The wonderful Armstrong and Miller (they also do the best RAF pilots ever.)

and finally - the fabulous Tim Minchin on Jonathan Ross. This may need a little explanation for non-Brits, but Jonathan's Ross's house band is called Four Poofs and Piano. Because they are. Best line: They can cure a man of trouser love and turn him onto skirt.

God I love being English.

Beat me on the bottom with a woman's weekly!

I love Tim Minchin too. (I so would...men in makeup...*phwoar*)

Armstrong and Miller>>> Is that the one where he does Right on Time? I think not. I haven't watched them all yet.

Have you seen the vids from Mitch Benn? He's brilliant, I highly recommend him.

Loving the whole lot! Remember going to 'The Old Time Musical Hall' at the Playhouse in Salisbury with my mum - I still know all the words and hardly anyone understands now why I loved it so much. Not sure many understood it then, to be fair, but it is so, so British!

And sorry to disagree with you, but I think you'll find that our old buffers were better than Armstrong and Miller. But maybe I'm biased.
