There's a film on at 2pm called "Sodom and Gomorrah."

I doubt it will be anything like my imagination.

Sadly

I've been touched by many noodly appendages - I think that still counts, right?

I've actually always wanted to know what they were doing in Gomorrah. I mean the bible is strangely reticent on the subject which implies it must have been disgraceful...

Yes, I know what Sodomy is, but no-one dares mention what Gomorray is like.

I DEMAND TO KNOW

You're leaving out two other cities that were destroyed in that rain of fire--Admah and Zeboim (Deut 29:23). Nobody remembers them, though.

I can't find any serious discussion of what the people of Gomorrah did. Or the people of Admah or Zeboim, either. But there is a part of Isaiah where he addresses the kings of Israel as the leaders of Sodom and the leaders of Gomorrah, and tells them what they need to do to improve:

Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

So I guess the original cities of the plains were doing a lot of cruel and unjust things to people who couldn't fight back--the oppressed, the orphaned, the widowed and the strangers.

I guess we didn't get a sin called Gomorrahy because we already have a word for cruelty.

Probably, but it's still likely to have skimpily dressed men in it. :-D
