The editor of the Historical Novel Society magazine commented on my recent post highlighting the excellent review that Donald Hardy’s Lover’s Knot received.

They said:

Pleased to see the discussion here - from my viewpoint as editor for the HNS magazine, I'd certainly be happy to see more gay historicals submitted. This goes for the online magazine as well (which is handled by one of my colleagues). I was pleased that Running Press decided to submit this one as well as others covered in the past. The Editors' Choice books are the most highly recommended titles from each issue, regardless of the era, though it usually works out that they're spread throughout the time periods. (Incidentally, the reviewer and I are both American! :)

So authors of gay historicals, you have no excuse – why are you not submitting to the HNS?
