I just heard a news item about the footballers complaining about the newly designed World Cup ball. Apparently it’s hard to control.

*blinks*

Two things occurred to me as I was driving along. First it was a sensible thought: That all the players will have to use the ball, so that levels the playing field, excuse the sports analogy.  Then I just started laughing uncontrollably. IT’S A BALL!! i mean how much design (and presumably a hell of a lot of time, effort, jobs and money) needs to go into designing it.

PLEASE don’t explain. I’m a real sport haterz. Or at least football. Just the words “World Cup” makes me want to emigrate somewhere for four weeks. God knows where though. The Moon, perhaps.

I think I'll create a "World Cup Bingo Card" which you can use for your own country. With things like: "Your star player is injured and is unable to play which gives your country the excuse why you didn’t win."(We are already well ahead of the game there…) "Your country's fans make tits of themselves" (and there)  ""The referee misses a vital opp to give your team a penalty shot." and so on. If I could be bothered and was at all interested. Expect much moaning on this.

Also FIREFLY is on UK tv!  OK - “the horror” channel (for some bizzaro reason) and i don’t GET the horror channel on Freeview but my dad does with his free Sky box. Argh!  Was so good to see it, I’d forgotten how damned good it was.  Must dig out the discs. That will give me something to watch during The Dreaded Month of DOOM.
