NOT a great day, for many reasons.
Words didn’t want to come, it was like pulling teeth. It doesn’t help that I (as you know) write in segments and join them up, and often when I’m joining up it doesn’t really mesh together because I’ve written something later that needs to be retro-fitted earlier, so I’ve been back and forth like Dr Who in the limited time span of the book today. I think people will like the narrator, but I’m not sure about the main protagonist – and no, they aren’t one and the same person. I’m still happy, but today I really wanted to kick it, hard. Dad had good advice “shut it down and try again tomorrow,” but I still feel that 300 words (and that’s just within what I already wrote, not new stuff) is a big fat fail.

Date: 2010-07-06 02:25 pm (UTC)Spenser's doing well, but they did have to re-open the thing. The poor sweetie looks like he came out third in a two-cat fight, but he didn't have a fever, so the meds are doing their job, and it hasn't closed up again. Considering we've got 4 cats, 3 with claws, and this is the first abscess I've had to deal with in 30 years, that's a good average.
